Zoning laws protected us until 2022- 2023 BOS voted that these type of facilities could be exempt from zoning laws. This correlates with Dominion ENergy leaning in to our community as they need these facilities.
District one, do you remember Elisha Kiser who ran for the Board of Supervisors in District one. She didn't win, but now she is project Developer for East Point Energy.
East Point energy needs a Certificate of use. They have contracted to have a 35 year lease with options of extensions.
The Board of Supravisors voted against home development on this land a few years ago, yet are considering a battery storage facility?
East Point Energy is playing politics. They say they they are for Goochland. But they have a history of designing these facilities to take the brunt off the PR for biug energy companies and then selling to Energy companies like dominion
